When breakouts are mostly red and sore looking, reaching for a stronger exfoliant often makes skin feel worse. This is a gentle botanical serum for that kind of skin, and it works best once your basic routine already feels comfortable.

Dipotassium glycyrrhizate, a soothing compound from licorice root, sits alongside a botanical complex that includes cassia, scutellaria, hops, purslane, witch hazel and calendula. In ingredient research, cassia and scutellaria have been studied for how they influence the signals that keep inflammation going, cassia and hops show antioxidant activity, and hops is being researched for its effect on 5 alpha reductase, an enzyme tied to oil production. MSM (dimethyl sulfone) is also included, and glycerin, betaine and sodium hyaluronate keep it light and hydrating. Ingredient research describes the ingredients, not results from this product.

How to use

We strongly recommend using this serum together with Remedy. Red, reactive breakouts settle best on a barrier that's calm and well hydrated, and Remedy is designed to give your skin that foundation.

After cleansing, apply Remedy and let it settle. Then apply an even layer of the serum to your face and neck and follow with the rest of your routine. If you aren't using Remedy yet, apply the serum to clean skin and follow with a gentle moisturizer.

Which acne product is right for you?

Mostly congested texture, blackheads and clogged pores: ISOV Radiance LHA Peel Pads.
Oily skin with clogged pores plus some red breakouts: Ekseption Super Salicylic Fluid.
Mostly red, tender looking breakouts: Clear Clarifying Serum.

Remedy goes on first after cleansing, with one exception: the Radiance LHA Peel Pads go on before Remedy. If your skin is stinging or irritated right now, get it comfortable with a simple routine first and add this serum after that. If you use a prescription acne treatment, check with your prescriber before adding new products.
