Best for: oily skin with clogged pores and some red breakouts, especially skin that's oily but still dehydrated

Oily skin tends to congest because extra oil and dead skin cells collect together inside the pore. This lightweight fluid gives you exfoliation for that kind of skin without any wiping or rubbing, which makes it a good fit when your skin is also getting a few red breakouts that you'd rather not scrub over.

Its exfoliant is betaine salicylate, which pairs salicylic acid with betaine, a molecule skin cells use to hold water, so the exfoliating action comes in a form that also carries hydration. Zinc PCA and sodium lactate both bring in components of the skin's own natural moisturizing factor, and niacinamide supports the skin's production of its barrier lipids. The idea is to treat congestion as a problem of retained cells and hydration rather than oil to strip away, because oily skin is very often dehydrated skin.

How to use

We strongly recommend using this fluid together with Remedy. Exfoliation goes much better on a barrier that's calm and well hydrated, and Remedy is designed to give your skin that support while the fluid does its work.

In the evening, after cleansing, apply Remedy and let it settle. Then smooth a few drops of the fluid over your face, avoiding your eyes and lips, and follow with the rest of your routine. If you aren't using Remedy yet, apply the fluid to clean skin and follow with a gentle moisturizer. Exfoliation does the most good on a healthy barrier and in small doses. Too much can make breakouts worse or create a whole new problem. Wear sunscreen every morning while you're using it.

Which acne product is right for you?

Mostly congested texture, blackheads and clogged pores: ISOV Radiance LHA Peel Pads.

Choose either the fluid or the pads rather than using both on the same night. Remedy goes on first after cleansing, with one exception: the Radiance LHA Peel Pads go on before Remedy. If you use a prescription acne treatment, check with your prescriber before adding an exfoliant.
